Full Research Papers are articles describing detailed results from original research. All findings are extensively discussed. New chemical compounds are described by their preparation as well as their physical and spectroscopic data.
Review articles are summaries of excellent scientific research articles which deal with specific research areas of high current interest in any area within the scope of the respective Beilstein Journal.
Letter articles are short articles describing essential findings from original research, which should be published rapidly. These findings should be new and must not have been published as part of full research papers in any journal.
Perspective articles present science-based views of experts on key topics of broad interest to the scientific community which are within the scope of the Beilstein Journal of Nanotechnology. Examples include but are not limited to constructive critical discussions about controversial topics within a discipline or field of research, insights regarding the impacts or future of a given area, the outline and examination of important unanswered questions and topics related to education and science culture.
Commentary articles directly comment on an article published either in the Beilstein Journal of Nanotechnology or in a different journal with a matching scope. In doing so, they provide a focused critical or alternative viewpoint and are typically narrowly focused and concise. Please note that with the introduction of the article type Perspective in 2022, the scope of Commentary articles was adjusted and refocused.
Editorial articles are short articles describing news about the journal or the opinion of the editor-in-chief, the publisher or a guest editor of a thematic series.
