Research areas
Prof. Iwona Cicha has an extensive research experience in the field of atherosclerosis, with a particular focus on the role of inflammation and blood flow dynamics in plaque development and destabilization. Her main research interests include the application of nanomedical strategies for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, magnetic nanoparticles, drug targeting and delivery, nanoparticle safety, as well as bio- and nanocomposite materials and their hemo- and biocompatibilty.
