π-Conjugated molecules and polymers have shown a lot of potential in a broad range of electronic, photonic, spintronic, sensing and biomedical applications. Their properties depend on our ability to control their structure, π-conjugation and intermolecular organization, which is intimately related to their optical, electronic, and magnetic properties. This thematic issue aims at highlighting recent advances in the design, synthesis and properties of π-conjugated systems.
